The Humanitarian Assistance Scheme has been expanded to include accommodation costs for people who are still without power after Storm Éowyn.  Louis O'Hara TD has provided this document detailing the guidance he has been given about the changes. Galway County Council have updated the list of Community Hubs with a list of locations and the services that are available.

This message is from Mark Lane, chairman of Ballinderreen Hurling Club. I hope that most of you are back with water and power. If not, the showers in dressing room 2 are back working. The dressing room will be left on latch for anyone that needs to use them. If locking the door when inside, please remember to to put it back on the latch when leaving. The showers have caused trouble, so if there is an issue when you are there you can call me. They take about half a minute to warm up, so don't panic if cold water flows for a bit.

The Minister for Social Protection, Dara Calleary, has confirmed that the Humanitarian Assistance Scheme is available to provide support to those living in properties directly affected by Storm Éowyn. The Humanitarian Assistance Scheme mitigates hardship by providing income tested financial assistance schemes to households affected by a severe weather event. The scheme will not cover losses covered by an insurance policy. If any homeowner affected by severe weather needs to access these supports, emergency Community Welfare Service contact details are available here More information on the supports related to the storm here .
