Social Dancing

South Galway Music Festival’s final social dancing night is coming up on Sunday, 19th of May.

Doors open in Keanes Bar, Oranmore at 5:30pm. Admission is €10. DJ Sam will provide music between 6 and 7pm. Damian Davis will take to the stage from 7 to 9pm. All support is welcome.

Athletic Development Workshop

There will be an athletic development workshop run on Wednesday, the 15th of May at 8pm in the community room with a practical speed development session on the astro. The workshop will be led by Declan Derrane. All are welcome to attend.

Coaching Workshop

Molly Dunne is holding a workshop targeted at coaching youth players on Thursday, 23rd of May, from 6 to 7:30pm. Players from the U-14 and U-16 camogie teams will help out to demonstrate the drills.

Health & Safety Officer

The Club seeks a volunteer Health and Safety Officer for the 2024 season.

The main duties involved in this role are to:

  • Liaise with Team Managers/First Aid to ensure they have complete first aid kits throughout the year.
  • Organise a first aid course during the year if there’s sufficient interest.
  • Supplying information to coaches on best practices and guidelines from the association or county board for dealing with incidents or injuries.

If anyone can contribute a few hours of their time to assist in keeping our members safe and healthy, please reach out to a committee member, get in touch via email ballinderreenhurling@gmail.com

Bus to Leinster Final

The club are considering organising a bus to the Leinster final on Saturday, 8th of June 2024, if Galway qualify. If you are interested, please contact Diarmaid Hampson (087 7688092).

Cycle for Treasure

Ballinderreen Community Centre is holding a treasure hunt on bikes around Ballinderreen village on Friday, 17th of May, as part of National Bike Week. The details are:

  • Meeting at the Community Centre at 6:45 pm.
  • Treasure Hunt begins at 7:00 pm sharp.
  • Teams of four
  • Solve the clues and discover the treasure.
  • First team with correct answers wins.
  • Plenty of fun for all. Prizes and refreshments afterwards.
  • Free Event.
  • Beidh ceist nó dhó trí Ghaeilge freisin!
  • Helmets and High Vis jackets advised as well as suitable clothing.
