Camogie End-of-Season Events

Our U8 Camogie team wrapped up the season last Friday with a fun-filled pizza party and an awards presentation.

Huge thanks to the management and coaches, Iwona Harty, Brian Mellett, Stephaine Fallon, and Barry Quinn, for dedicating their time and expertise to help this fantastic group of girls improve their skills so much over the past year.

A big thank you to all the parents for their continuous support, encouraging the girls throughout the year and bringing them to training and matches each week

Our U9/10 Camogie team concluded the season with a thrilling Mother vs. Daughter evening on the Astro, which ended in a penalty shootout. We’re not quite sure who won, but who’s keeping score anyway 🙂

SOCIAL CAMOGIE

A fun way to connect & promote the sport of Camogie among women of all ages and abilities.

Sessions will take place on Tuesday evenings from 8-9pm in the Astro in Ballinderreen.

CAMOGIE AGM NOTICE

The Camogie Club’s AGM will take place on 21/11/24 in the school hall at 8.30pm.

Anyone is interested in joining the committee or would like to understand how you can help your club, please get in touch with any of the present committee to discuss.

Only 2024 members will be allowed to propose or second a proposal and vote on a proposal.

Finally, we encourage all members to attend the AGM so that you may exercise your right to a say in how your club is run. We also invite any prospective club members to attend.

Zoe Mills

Zoe Mills is 2 years old and has been battling with Stage 4 Neuroblastoma for over a year which has included high dose chemotherapy, radiotherapy, a stem cell transplant and an abdominal surgery. Her father, David, coaches juvenile hurling in St Pats Donabate with Alan Quinn.

She is undergoing the immunotherapy phase of her treatment but this form of cancer has a high relapse rate. Her family are raising funds through @hope_for_zoe for her to travel to the USA to participate in clinical trials which aim to prevent the disease from returning.

Social Dancing Nights

We welcome 2024 Glór Tíre winner Jason McCahill Music to Keanes Bar and Restaurant Oranmore Galway this bank holiday Sunday night for what promises to be a great night of music, dancing and entertainment.

• Doors open at 5:30pm

• ⁠Country music DJ Sam will kick things off at 6-7pm and

• ⁠Jason McCahill takes to the stage at 7pm

Tickets on the door. Three hours of dancing for €10.

Galway Masters Hurling

Congratulations to the Galway Masters who won the Gaelic Masters Association Challenge Cup Final at the weekend.

Trick or Treat Party

A fangtastic spooky night for the small ones 👻🫣 all in aid of sick children in Children’s hospitals at Crumlin, Temple Street, Tallaght and Connolly - 6:00-7:30pm on the 30th of October in Ballinderreen Community Centre.

GAA Youth Forum

Calling all GAA, LGFA and Camogie Association Members Aged 12 - 21

The GAA Youth Forum will be held in Croke Park on Saturday November 2nd, 2024.

The theme of the forum is ‘’Strengthening the youth voice for the next 140 years”.

The GAA Youth Forum will offer a range of interactive workshops and speakers with topics to be addressed including:

- Decision Making Structures

- Communications

- Coach Behaviour & Education

- Addressing Discrimination & Accessibility

- Development & Volunteering Opportunities

The flagship session of the GAA Youth Forum will be the Youth Congress which will see attendees voting on a set of proposals generated throughout the day.

The results of this Congress will be taken forward as recommendations by representatives of the GAA Youth Committee to GAA Congress 2025.

A maximum of 300 delegates between from 12 – 21 years old representing GAA, LGFA and Camogie clubs will attend so don’t wait to express your interest.
