All-Ireland Semi-Final Tickets

People who ordered All-Ireland semi-final tickets from the club can collect them from the community room Wednesday, 24th of June between 7 and 9pm.

Intermediate Hurling Championship Draw

Ballinderreen have been drawn in Group 2 with Rahoon-Newcastle, Pádraig Pearses and Ballygar.

Ballinderreen will play Rahoon-Newcastle in round 1 of the championship. They will also play each other in the final round of the league this Friday at 7:30pm in Tonabrocky.

Paul Clancy

Ballinderreen Hurling & Camogie club was saddened to hear of the passing of Paul Clancy who won 5 Connacht and 2 All-Ireland titles in a decorated career with Galway and Moycullen.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Clancy and Fahy families, friends and Cumann Peile Mhaigh Cuilinn.

Paul will be deeply missed by his wife Johanna, children Ellen and Finn, mother Mary, sisters Linda and Ailish, brother Gearóid the rest of his extended family and friends.

Reposing at O’Flaherty Funeral Parlour, Munster Avenue, Galway (H91V1K8) from 3pm to 7pm on Thursday, 25th of June. Funeral Mass on Friday, 26th of June at the Church of the Immaculate Conception, Moycullen at 12 noon. Burial afterwards in the adjoining graveyard.

Highlights from his playing career include his pass for Declan Meehan's goal in the All-Ireland final against Kerry.

Another was his winning point against Armagh in 2001 (Timestamp 1:14:10)

He also appeared on the Football Pod on Off the Ball in 2024. Paul Clancy joins around the 19 minute mark.

South Galway Bay Music Festival 2026

The South Galway Bay Music Festival will take place from Friday 10th to Sunday 12th July. The full line-up of acts can be viewed above.

Key Information:

• The festival is open to all ages.
• Under 16s must be accompanied by an adult.
• There will be no discounted Under 16 tickets available online.
• Weekend Under 16 tickets (€20) will be made available within the community closer to the event.

Adult Weekend Tickets:

• Online weekend ticket price: €70
• Community weekend ticket price: €60

Discounted community tickets will not be available online. These tickets will be available to purchase through Hurling Club and Camogie Club Committee members, as well as Adult Hurling and Camogie players.

Intercounty Games

The Galway camogie team will play Tipperary in their final group game in Kenny Park, Athenry on Sunday, 28th of June at 3:30pm.

The Galway football team will play Dublin in Croke Park on Sunday, 28th of June at 4pm. The game will be preceded by Louth v Monaghan.

Camogie Mascots

Poc Fada

The Galway GAA Poc-Fada competition will take place in Galway GAA COE, Loughgeorge on Wednesday 24th of June with registration @ 6.45pm. 

The Winner and Runner Up of the Galway GAA Adult Poc-Fada and the Winner of the Galway U16 Poc-Fada will take part in the Provincial competition.

The provincial Poc-Fada competition will take place in Connacht COE, Bekan on Monday July 6th, 2026.

Sea to Summit Training Program

Keith Carr intends to run a 12 week training program to prepare for the Westport Sea to Summit  Spirit event which takes place on Saturday, November 7th. The Spirit event consists of 

• ⁠4k run
• 8k cycle
• 4k Mountain run (Croagh Patrick)
• 11k cycle
• 4k run

The training program will begin in August. All fitness levels are welcome

The cost is €200 (which includes the face fee and accommodation for Friday night) or €280 (which includes the face fee and accommodation for Friday and Saturday night)

There is a clean up at Drumacoo cemetery on Wednesday evening at 7pm. All help greatly appreciated.

Parish Heritage Audit

The Ballinderren Parish Heritage Audit is currently collecting information about the sites and stories connected to our past. Join us in the Community Room on Wednesday July 1st to hear about what we have collected so far and help us explore what more we might discover.
